1) The V2 Starting Point

Role

I joined at the start of V2 concepting as lead product director.

Problem

The first version had a near-100% drop-off rate.

Goal

My task was to redesign the dashboard and help users get through a product whose setup was complex by nature.

2) Two Sides of a Marketplace

Providers

Providers could publish an oracle, such as sports scores or weather data, to the blockchain.

Buyers

Buyers could discover that data and connect it to their apps through an API.

Challenge

Both sides had to navigate onboarding, configuration, and integration before receiving value.

3) Teach Through the Journey

Approach

I wove tutorials, education, and knowledge transfer into the journey from sign-up through dashboard setup.

Configuration

Guidance appeared alongside configuration decisions: formulas, nested oracles, data connections, and server settings.

Learning

Learning became part of doing, rather than a separate prerequisite.

Switchboard: in-context documentation, task categories, an import option, and an empty-state prompt guide the next step.

4) Make Configuration Visual

Builder

I designed a visual builder so users could see and manipulate nested oracles and their connections.

Interaction

A drag-and-drop, almost gamified interaction model made the structure tangible instead of leaving users to interpret a wall of configuration text.

5) From Data Feeds to Products

Marketplace

I turned a static collection of feeds into a marketplace.

Recognition

Card taxonomy, microbranding, and tags made sports, weather, and other categories recognizable.

Integration

The integration journey took cues from ecommerce checkout: choose a feed, configure it, review, and connect.

Switchboard marketplace catalog: recognizable data products.
Switchboard Configure Data: update interval, duration, reliability, price summary, and Checkout in one guided flow.

6) Users Began Flowing Through

Launch

After V2 launched, users began adopting the product and completing journeys that had previously blocked them.

Experience

The redesign connected education, visual configuration, discovery, and integration into one usable experience.

Evidence

The next pass will add the measured post-launch funnel.
